Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

This a must do!!! Our guide Issac was very knowledgeable and super friendly. He spent so much time with us and answered all of our questions. It was obvious he passionately took care of the dogs. We got to mush the dogs through the snow on the glacier feeling safe but having so much fun too. Worth every penny and the money goes to the dogs care!!

So happy you enjoyed the Cataract glacier! Don't forget to like Dallas Seavey Racing on Facebook we highlight all our guides along with posting on our website about what the guides are up to in the mushing season. Hope to see Isaac run some races this year!

This tour was much better than anticipated. We arrived and were taught about Iditarod racing. We were shown the kennels where the dogs reside. It is very apparent the organization truly loves and cares for their dogs. These dogs all compete in the actual Iditarod challenge and the owner has won in the past. We then participated in a wheeled sled ride. These dogs are amazing. Finally we were able to interact with a new litter of pups so they can experience different people. I highly recommend this tour.

So much to learn, it's really exciting just joining the tour not knowing what to expect. Then walking away with SO much new knowledge. It truly is an educational experience. Thank you!
