Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview

This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Such a fun way to learn about mushing, the Iditarod, and the world of dog sledding. Driving our own carts and playing with the puppies were definitely the highlights! Ibi, Chad, and Isaac were so knowledgeable, encouraging, and friendly. It was an incredible experience that we recommend to everyone!

This was a fantastic hands on experience! We learned about the dogs and the Iditarod from champion mushers, got to ride in a summer sleigh pulled by 4 dogs (which we drove ourselves!), and played with month old puppies. All the dogs were extremely well socialized and friendly with people.

So much fun!! I have had a couple of prior mushing experiences but this was my favorite. Driving your own sled of dogs is thrilling and the trails are beautiful. Everyone was so nice and answered all of our 1000 questions. The puppies were just the icing on the cake!
