This was a wonderful tour of charleston from myrtle beach. Starts with the two hour drive to charleston in a motor coach. There are four separate events - a boat tour, a guided trolley tour throughout charleston, free time to walk the market and shops and then a two hour stop at Boone Plantation. My husband and I enjoyed every stop on the tour. It is well planned and moves along smoothly. Each stop is fun and informative. Also provided a boxed lunch.

Picked up at Myrtle Beach enjoyed a wonderful carriage tour of historic Charleston. Boarded a boat and enjoyed provided box lunch on our way to view fort Sumter. Spotted a few dolphin along the way. The captain was very accommodating and pointed out many interesting and historic details as we toured the water way. Back on the bus for our last stop of the day at Boone Hall plantation. Interesting history with original slave quarters to tour.

We were picked up from Broadway at the Beach on a cold raining March morning. Our bus driver and tour guide was a fine old gentleman who was the nicest and sweetest person I have ever met. Extra points just for him. After stopping at the Visitor's Centre, we did the horse-carriage ride which was great ( and it stopped raining on time). Next we did the harbour ferry ride (which got cut down by over an hour due to mechanical problem). We were offered partial refund on that part of the ticket. Next we did the Boone Plantation- where we had more time to spend since the ferry ride got cut down. Having an inclination towards history, I loved Boone plantation- the house tour (photos not allowed here), the nurseries, cotton plantations, the dock, gully demostrations, slave houses, the live oaks welcoming guests to the mansion.. everything was magnificent... It rained on and off and rest of the time it was pleasantly sunny that created a perfect ambience for a historic tour of the estate. Since I visited Mount Vernon in Washington DC before, I naturally compared the two in my mind.. though this was a smaller estate it had a distinct low-country vibe to it.. If you want to experience the low country/southern history and charm.. this is a must for you.. We got back on the bus 15 mins early and returned to Mrytle Beach around 5pm. This is a great way to see Charleston, if you aren;t renting a car at Myrtle Beach. We felt it was worth the money spent and the people were very nice to us. Also everything was very punctual- the kind old driver made sure of that. Lunch was great. We did the veggie sandwich- amazing!
