We took a bus tour from Myrtle Beach. The best thing was that we did not have to drive ourselves. The carriage ride provided a lot of information on the homes and churches. We found it interesting. The boat tour reiterated much of what the carriage driver told us. Saw many people on phones or looking bored during the trip. Would recommend going to Fort Sumter and the ship sites rather than passing them on a tour boat. The plantation site was beautiful. The home did not impress us. I guess we just don't care much for looking at furniture placed in a home for the purpose of making it a museum. The information in slave homes on the site were interesting. That would be the only thing I would recommend seeing at the plantation. I would visit Charleston on our own next time to enjoy the area in depth not as an overview tour as this one was.

Our trip to Charleston was awesome, our horse/carriage ride tour guide Monica was very informative, for a girl from NY, she knows a heck if a lot about Charleston, Captain John ...spot on , history at the Boone Plantation, WOW. Great Day!

Wonderful day. They had everything coordinated for us and each activity was well planned and enjoyed! Well worth the cost. We had a carriage ride in the historic district with some shopping time in the market, lunch and Harbor cruise out by Ft Sumter, and wonderful visit to the Boone Plantation. Modern comfortable bus for the ride from Myrtle Beach. Hank was great as our bus driver.
