The vineyards were excellent, the first we loved the wine, and the staff, the second is spectacular, the view is unbeatable, our third stop we could see where the wine is fermented they explained the process. everything was great, my husband loved this experience.

The actual tour and the contents were quite good. You get an hour in each winery with three wines at each destination and the hosts of each winery were very informative about the wine and the history of their vineyards, so to fault them it would be unfair. Greg our tour guide/bus driver was also great - provided in detail history of San Francisco and an excellent driver. However Grayline packed fifty people on this tour, which made it feel like cattle being herded. 50 adults at each destination getting on and off the bus alone takes a fair amount of time and it was also tricky for Greg to keep us on the timings for the reasons I list below. At some vineyards they only had one host so pouring a few bottles of wine for 50 people is also tricky in a short time frame. On top of this, 50 people means there are long queues for the toilet and purchasing of goods at each place despite having an allocated area just for our tour at each section. I would have rated the tour at lot higher if the amount of people on the tour was capped around 20 to 25 people, as unfortunately the amount of people impacted all areas of the tour.

Hello Vivien253, Thanks for your honest review. We want every customer to feel comfortable sharing good or bad news with us. I'm sorry that your experience with us fell short of expectations. We do not usually have our buses packed. However, on the day of your tour, we had to accommodate some customers that were scheduled for the previous day, but could not make it on the tour due to flight delays. On the other hand, we're happy to read that Greg was great and that the tour and contents were quite good for you. I hope we see you again soon. Xavier General Manager Gray Line San Francisco
