I went with my son while visiting San Francisco for a couple of days. Our flight wasn’t until 11:30 pm, so we thought this would be a great way to end our trip before departing. The Gray Line bus was really close to our hotel, so we walked to it. The full bus departed at 9:00 am sharp. Our driver had a sense of humor which made our ride very pleasant. Our first stop was a beautiful place, which felt as if I was in Tuscany. Second was Madonna, which was no big deal, and last was Sutter Home. They were very nice and welcoming, but I would’ve preferred another winery other than Sutter Home. We met people from different places, which was a lovely experience. The tour also stopped at a location for lunch with several areas to eat. I would do it again with no hesitation but perhaps try other wineries to have more exposure, as well.

I booked this tour 3 weeks prior as part of my business trip to San Francisco. Two days prior to the tour I get an email (good thing I checked my personal email) saying the tour is cancelled due to the Thanksgiving holiday. They didn't know that there was a holiday until two days before?? Sadly this was the only day I had left before leaving the Bay area. Frankly I feel they should have blocked the date like they do when they are oversubscribed so I could have booked an alternate date!! Oh well - next trip but very disappointed with TripAdvisor! 🙁

Dear abenanomsa, Thank you for sharing your experience on our TripAdvisor's profile. Unfortunately, we had our partner wineries cancel two days before the tour so we could not make the tour on our end. We managed to contact each and every customer for them to be informed on the same day. We deeply regret the situation encountered, but lamentably it was a situation totally out of our control. We hope you can give us another opportunity in your next visit to the city for you to se how we operate our tours. Kind regards, Manager at Gray Line of San Francisco

This trip was a huge success! The departure location was convenient and easy to find. The bus was comfortable, complete with outlets for charging needs and and space underneath seats to store bags (like on planes) there was also an overhead shelf so to speak that you could probably also use. There was also a bathroom but it wasn't necessary as the longest legs of the trip were only 45min - 1 hour. Our tour guide was awesome, and even took a 5 minute stop to let us take great pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. The three vineyards we visited were beautiful and rich with history. Each location also had water available and there was plenty of time to take pictures and explore their gift shop. The first location even had a raffle for a bottle of wine! Our lunch was in downtown Napa, we were given about 1.5 hours which was perfect. We walked to one of the "farther" restaurants across the river from where we were dropped off and still had time to stop in shops and markets on our way back before our departure time. We also stopped by the "Welcome to Napa" sign on our way back to the city. Overall, if you are short on time, transportation, or just want a great trip that doesn't involve much planning, BOOK THIS TRIP! My group had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't done a Napa trip before. ALSO: bring a light jacket with you (I traveled in November).
