What To Expect

Old Savannah Tours

Trolleys operate on a 20-minute pickup schedule from 9:00am to 4:30pm for your convenience. Find a seat and begin your 1.5-hour tour of the history of Savannah. My family of three teens, wife, and I took the Historic Overview tour May of 2019. When researching tours to take in Savannah, GA. we fell on this one because of the entertainment factor advertised. From YouTube to the Old Savannah Tour website you are under the impression that at every stop you will be greeted by a period actor with interesting yet entertaining information from the residents of Savannah. For a 1.5 hour tour we only had 3 such encounters at the very beginning of the tour. What made matters worse was the dead pan, monotone tour guide/driver. Half way through the tour we were left trying to figure out if we would tough it out or just Uber back to the car. My family and I would highly NOT recommend this tour, and this is coming from a family that diligently researched this event. Hope this helps in your decision.

On our website, we note that historical re-en actors appear from time to time. We strive to provide at least 2 to 3 characters per tour. Our amazing characters rotate stops throughout the day. This way, guests doing the hop on and hop off tour will avoid seeing the same character more than once. Thank you for choosing Old Savannah Tours. We hope you will try us again next time.

Our “guide” mixed in so much BS that when she was saying something of value it got lost. Didn’t really care that this was her 3 rd trip of the day and about traffic. Then to top it off the bus starts making a loud noise which she can’t shut off and then tells us we need to get off to catch another bus. Try somewhere else, this was a waste of money.

You should please tell your tour guides not to refer as slaves as “indentured servants”. Slaves didn’t voluntarily work, they were forced. I really had a good time on this tour but that statement left a bad taste in my mouth.
