It really doesn't get better than this.
Visited with my husband and my two young daughters (ages 7 and 9). We're no huge space people or anything like that, just thought it would be cool to check out NASA while in Houston. We were overwhelmed with how amazing it was there. Seriously. It's so cool.
We did the mission control tour first - easily the best part of the whole place. To actually be there....just amazing. They have the actual control room where the first moon landing was handled. The room is the same, they left it as it was.
The Tram tours are an hour long and pretty entertaining in their own right. They tell you about a bike-share program that's been on the grounds since the beginning of NASA and about the herd of longhorns (and even an alligator) that are there as well.
The training center tour was an ok tour. Neat, but nothing to write home about.
The activities in the main building were great for the kids. They had a blast with all the hands on activities.
We were there from 9-4, prepare for a long day of fun. Such a cool visit. Food and water are majorly expensive there - be prepared for $3 bottles of water and a $30 cafe lunch!
