Our recent tour on an elderly open-topped London bus round downtown Huston was fun and informative and we were able to board early enough to get a seat upfront under a partial roof, which was a relief as it was a muggy 34 degrees. After an amusing 90-minute commentary, we were transferred to the company's shuttle for the trip on to NASA's Johnson Space Center. The tour company had advised us to make straight for the tram trip as the crowds can be large and we were lucky enough to get straight on. This commentated, hop-on, hop-off circuit of the complex is a must, particularly for older visitors who remember those heady days of early moon exploration. Mission Control is just as it was when Armstrong and Aldrin made their historic walk in 1969 and it is staggering to see just how primitive the backup was in the control centre. Plenty of interactive stuff for kids to do in other parts of the complex too. Highly recommended!
