Nice relaxing coach ride out to Lynchburg and the distillery. Little town with lots of shops. Even a Harley store. Tour of distillery was interesting and Jacob our guide was very good. We were back in Nashville around four and walked to Broadway for some dinner and music. Would recommend.

When my family wanted to tour the Jack Daniel's Distillery, I wasn't overly excited, but so glad I did. It was quite interesting both historically and process wise, but our quide Ron hemmed up our tour. He was a lot of fun and made it very worthwhile.

Please note that this tour is only bus transportation from Nashville to the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg. It does not include tickets to the tours at the distillery. These must be purchased directly from the Jack Daniel's website or at the distillery. I recommend buying ahead of time. The pick-up location was at the Omni hotel at 9 am. The company rep who checked us onto the bus provided a brief history about whisky making in Tennessee, after which he left the bus and we started on the 1.5 journey to JD. The bus driver did not give any commentary during our trip. We arrived in Lynchburg at 10:45. The bus left Lynchburg for the return to Nashville promptly at 2:30 pm. There was considerable traffic on the way back due to an accident so we were very happy we weren't driving. The bus driver did a fabulous job finding an alternate route and we arrived back at the Omni at 4:30 pm. The bus has a cooler with complimentary water. You can also bring and store other drinks in the cooler too. The town of Lynchburg is very small. There are several small restaurants and gift stores. We had lunch at Southern Perks. The freshly made wraps were delicious. It is probably cheaper to rent a car but the convenience of relaxing on a bus and not dealing with heavy traffic is worth the extra cost.
