What To Expect

National Corvette Museum

The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car. Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum. As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership. You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs. Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit. This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes. The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items. An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

We aren’t car people, but wanted something unique to Kentucky. This fit the bill. The exhibit are well maintained and designed for not just the car lover, but for the general public too. The exhibit covering the damage from the sinkhole in 2012 was amazing. We also loved the little kid’s area where the younger ones could work on a practice car. If you want to do the Corvette simulator, I recommend arriving earlier in the day and doing it first thing. The lines can get a little long when the museum gets busier later. We would definitely come back again.

You don't have to be a Corvette fan to enjoy this, they have some beautiful vehicles on display. The extra attention to the story of the sinkhole was very interesting. We spent almost 2 hours there which was plenty of time.

Cruise through Corvette history at this great museum. There are tons if beautifully restored Corvettes dating back to the 50s providing a great walk through memory lane. Whether you love Corvettes because of their speed, beauty, or just like cars the museum is worth the trip.
