National Corvette Museum
The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car.  Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum.  As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership.  You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs.  Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit.  This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes.  The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items.  An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

during the pandemic, with our international options limited, we have been traveling to spots within a day’s drive of our home in NE TN. The most recent trip was to Bowling Green, KY…home to many things, but high on my list was the Corvette Museum. I do not own one of these fine vehicles, but I am a car guy, and every car guy knows about Corvettes. What they man not know much about, is the history behind the car. The museum is chock full of important Corvette models, from the initial car in 1953 all the way through the latest mid-engine iteration (two of which were sitting outside the museum, plastic still on the seats). The other interesting thing about this museum is the fact that a sink hole swallowed up several cars in the Dome section of the museum back in 2014. The museum used the unfortunate incident to add to the overall exhibit, using indications on the floor to show where the cars fell through, and a little information on the cave system below the museum. There are other facets to the museum which we didn’t take advantage off. Buy something to remember the trip in the gift shop. Recommended.

On a recent trip to Nashville, I drove up to Bowling Green to say I had been to Kentucky (a few more States to say I've been in all 50) and found the National Corvette Museum. Unfortunately, I arrived there late in the afternoon and was not able to get into the museum, but was able to get a look inside the lobby area. There were several brand new Corvettes waiting for their new owners on the Museum Delivery Program and it was cool to see so many brand new Corvettes (some in very unique color combos) in one place. I'm sure the museum itself would have been interesting and will have to go back one day to check it out. Large gift shop with everything you could possible want with the Corvette logo on it.

I was pleasantly surprised with the different concept cars and other displays they had to offer. I’ve never really been a “Corvette guy“ but I certainly walked away with a new appreciation for them.
