Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.

We've been traveling in Alaska for the past 3 weeks and this is the best tour we've had so far! The boat & crew were fantastic & friendly, we saw SO MANY CRITTERS, & got to hang out with a Glacier. Learned many new things about AK & its sea life. Dinner on Fox Island was delicious & I appreciated the opportunity to explore a bit on my own. Even after we move back to AK, I hope to take this tour again & bring friends & fam!

We had a great time on our NP cruise that also included dinner on Fox Island. We thought the lunch and dinner were both very good. Adding the buffet dinner option was only $30/person more. I thought it was a great value- you can’t get a fresh salmon entree for less than $25 a person at basically any restaurant in Alaska. We saw tons of wildlife which was the best part about our trip. The glacier was epic!! All of the crew and the captain Mike were super friendly.

We selected the 8.5 hour tour and I had some concerns that the kids might get done with an 8.5 hour tour. However, it was quite the opposite. We took the tour at the end of June. All four of us absolutely loved it. Also, the length of time allowed us to go farther and follow orcas when they were spotted. We also saw otters, a humpback breach, all types of seabirds, otters, seals, and sea lions. We also saw amazing glaciers, of which my 10 year old was in awe. The food on Fox Island was quite good and the chocolate chip cookies on board were yummy. Being on the deck is great, but wear multiple layers. We wore zip off pants and a thin layer on top with a fleece layer and a raincoat. My 7 year old was chilly and put on his rain pants as well. Also, I would recommend bringing along gloves and a hat. Overall, I would highly recommend the 8.5 hour tour.
