On July 18th 2015 our family of 7 enjoyed rafting with West Virginia Adventures...4 on the Upper New and 3 on the Lower New. The guides were very conscious of safety but at the same time gave us every opportunity to experience white water rafting at its best. The scenery was fantastic. Their facilities were rustic, but very clean. Our river guide, Gary, had 20+ years of experience and took a personal interest in making sure that we had fun. We are only once a year summer weekend rafting warriors. I chose this company because they had all day and express trips and convenient starting times. After researching other companies, I know we made the right decision to raft with West Virginia Adventures.

I booked this last minuet and was extremely pleased. We stayed in the cabin at WVA for 2 nights, it was simple an quiet. We took the Lower New River Rafting trip and did some hiking. All the staff were great and very personable. Josh our guide did a fantastic job! I was extremely nervous before we went out as I wasn't fully aware of what I was getting into before going and the possible risks. Josh's safety talk and constant reminders along the trip made me feel at ease as well as the duckies (kayakers) that traveled with us to help if we needed rescuing. We had the opportunity to jump from boulders and to swim some rapids. While I did not partake in this it was a nice option and maybe next time when I'm not so nervous I will. We stopped along the river and climbed some boulders to have lunch and watch others go through the one set of rapids. I feel like WVA gave a more personalized experience than the bigger companies may have. I did see the competitors had "swimmers"(people that fell out) early on in the trip and I attributed that to the increased number of rafters & not as good of instruction. Along the river Josh told us stories of the river and history of the towns. In summation we had a fabulous time and I am overly pleased with the service and will go back and recommend to all my friends!!!

We had a great experience this past week on the Lower New River. There were 11 of us winding up a week of vacation. We decided to go rafting on Friday. We called a couple of days ahead of time and lined up an afternoon trip. The prices were very reasonable for our group. Our main guide was Gary who has many years of experience on the New River. He made us feel very comfortable and ably guided us down the rain swollen river without flipping over. Kudos to the bus drivers on those hairpin turns when leaving the Fayette Ramp area...WV Adventures is first class!
