The garden districts homes were lovely to see!! Stories behind them were great to hear. The cemetery family information was great to learn.

It was a cool and rainy day and James was able to hold our interest the whole time and came prepared with extra umbrellas too! He was very knowledgeable and had a witty sense about him. His amiable personality made the two hours go by quick. I was only in the area for a short time so I am glad I fit this in. For other walking tour goers…I wouldn’t recommend walking in this area if you have mobility issues: many sidewalks have been impacted by root growth and the streets are heavily patched (not smooth).

Thank you for braving the yucky day and sticking with the Garden District tour! And thanks for giving James the praise he deserves for being a really funny guy and an excellent guide! And thanks for the very true warning about the sidewalks and roads of New Orleans - they are an obstacle course! And, finally, thanks for this great review! We are so pleased that you decided to spend a little of your precious New Orleans time with us, and we hope you come stroll with us another (warmer, drier) day! Libby

I'm so glad we visited the Garden Quarter! If we'd only seen the French quarter while in New Orleans I feel like we'd have really missed out. Our guide James was excellent, he had lots of stories and looked out for us when it started raining, with spare umbrellas. Great experience!

Thank you for being the kind of traveler that ventures out of the typical tourist zone to explore the lush, elegant, historical Garden District with us! James is a great guide with good stories and a nice collection of umbrellas, and he is more than willing to share both. The Garden District tells a part of our history that is not often told, but that fits into American History and a fuller understanding of our role in the growth of this country. Plus, it's gorgeous! Please come again! Libby
