The tour was fun and informative, and our guide, Renee, was amazing! She gave us a fast-paced download of New Orleans history, an overview of her own idiosyncratic family history, and a zoomed-in look at various aspects of the Garden district, from notes on antebellum architecture to personal anecdotes about John Goodman, who has a house there. She's a wonderful raconteur. I would listen to her rattle off a library catalogue.

What a fantastic review! We all appreciate it so much, and agree that Renée is interesting, funny, and brings a local perspective and energy to all of her tours. We love to provide a nice mix of architectural features, historical significance, mild celebrity gossip, and personally tested recommendations on our Garden District tours. I hope your entire time in New Orleans was fun and memorable, and I hope you come walk with us again. Next time, try Renee‘s French Quarter tour! Libby

James was very knowledgeable about New Orleans history and the architecture of the Garden District. I learned a lot about the way the economy of the city changed over time and how that affected the homes that we saw. Of course, he pointed out the houses owned by movie stars and where movies had been filmed. The weather and the smell of the sweet olive trees was delightful!

Thank you so much for providing a multisensory review of your Garden District tour with James! Architecture is about more than houses; it shows us how the priorities, access to materials, and politics through the years shaped how people lived. And yes, it smells good this time of year! James is quite adept at explaining the history and the culture (and the cemeteries ) of New Orleans. Come back when the magnolias are in bloom for an entirely new wonderful smell! Libby

Thank you for attending my tour and leaving such a fabulous review! Every great review like this brings us more opportunities to share the stories of the city that we love. I confess that I do know a lot about Louisiana, but I also have much more to learn and I relish every day that I get to spend here thinking about our culture. Please walk with me next time you make it to town! I do French Quarter tours, too. Libby
