Drive along the Mississippi River to reach your destination in the swamps.

Barataria Preserve

This tour is a combination of both a swamp tour and an airboat ride. Your tour guide will stop on your journey to allow for photos and alligator encounters! This airboat is a larger capacity vessel with the ability to seat up to 16 passengers. This is perfect for larger groups. The seating on your airboat is stadium style seating, so anyone seated in front of you will not be obstructing your view. Each airboat tour is unique and unscripted, you never know what's going to be waiting for your group behind the next turn. Airboats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine, bringing speeds of your boat up to 25 miles an hour. Airboats are propelled by a large fan that blow air behind the vessel. On this tour, you will reach places and visit areas which normal boats and vehicles are unable to access.

I loved our swamp tour and our caption Kenny was great! The weather was a bit cooler that day so flying through the water on the airboat was definitely a thrill ride. Kenny was hilarious and you can tell he loves what he does. We only saw 2 alligators but the tour was definitely still worth it!

Husband, two teen ladies, and I enjoyed the two hour airboat swamp tour today - saw gators, turtles, cranes and fish (no snakes). Definitely bring your jacket and sunscreen, and wear the provided ear protection. It's obvious that Captain Ernie loves the bayou and its creatures; we appreciated the educational information he shared, as well as his sense of humor - and in addition to stopping the boat a few times to observe, he took time to answer questions and share his passion. We drove ourselves to the dock which was an easy 30 minute drive from the NOLA Warehouse District. This outing was a favorite on our trip and we'd highly recommend!

This was an awesome experience! It was a little cold but a ton of fun. Got to see 2 alligators and some other wildlife. Our tour guide was very pleasant.
