This tour is a combination of both a swamp tour and an airboat ride. Your tour guide will stop on your journey to allow for photos and alligator encounters! This airboat is a larger capacity vessel with the ability to seat up to 16 passengers. This is perfect for larger groups. The seating on your airboat is stadium style seating, so anyone seated in front of you will not be obstructing your view. Each airboat tour is unique and unscripted, you never know what's going to be waiting for your group behind the next turn. Airboats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine, bringing speeds of your boat up to 25 miles an hour. Airboats are propelled by a large fan that blow air behind the vessel. On this tour, you will reach places and visit areas which normal boats and vehicles are unable to access.

If you have "ride an airboat into the Bayou" on your bucket list, then the Louisiana Tour Company is the one to take you there. Larry, our guide, was amazing. He was friendly, charming and knew all of the secret areas of the swamp to see the local wildlife up close. We saw plenty of alligators, wild birds and even a water moccasin swimming across the swamp. Larry even has a baby alligator that he lets you hold. I highly recommend this company. It was the high point of our vacation.

Ernie was our tour guide and gave us an educational guide around the swamps. He was a wealth of information about the alligators and had a keen eye to find them lingering around the water's edge. Be sure and bring a jacket and/or blanket on the boat, because it can get hold with the wind blowing on you. We followed the driving instructions on their website and had no problems finding the Swamp Company.

This tour isnā€™t worth the money if youā€™re going in the winter. We went around the swamp in circles for 2 hours and only saw 1 tiny gator. Tour guide was okay-knowledgeable but in a rude way. The bus drivers taking us to the swamp were disorganized and yelling at each over their radios and didnā€™t know who was picking up who. It also seemed like the boat drivers were disorganized too- they had people moving from boat to boat and everyone was confused. However, it was nice to be on the water and it would probably be better in summer.
