Bruce was amazing! He is a wealth of knowledge and you can tell he loves what he does. I learned so much about little-known American history. Modern day NYC did not happen by accident. Take the tour! You will not regret it.

As a visitor from the UK I was keen to improve my shallow knowledge of the American Revolutionary War….this was a great way to do so. Our guide Bruce was engaging, knowledgeable and provided an excellent overview of the battles fought by Washington, the early Dutch settlement, the impact on the Lepane peoples, Hamilton’s extraordinary foresight in how to organise the affairs of a new nation and the garrisoning of New York by the British. A great way to both learn and explore Lower Manhattan. Highly recommended!

Very interesting tour! I learned so much about U.S. history on this tour. The guide is extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Even though many of the landmarks are no longer intact, I thought the guide did a great job of storytelling and imagination. Next time I'm in NYC I would like to take another tour from this company. It was very cold at the southern tip of Manhattan in February, so dress appropriately to be outside for a couple hours. There wasn't much walking, it was a very small area with a lot of history.
