A group of families from our school took this tour together. Sean the tour guide was extremely knowledgable, friendly and a fantastic guide. The tour was very informative, and included a great deal of history of NYC, slavery and the Underground Railroad that none of us had heard before. We could have easily spent more time at each site to delve more deeply. It was a fantastic tour. Highly recommended.

Engaging, emotional, and crucial learning happened on the NYC Slavery and Underground Railroad Tour. Donald, our tour guide, did a great job - it may have been one of his first days - and knew so much history and many stories, also quick with a smile. I regret not asking questions, but was so filled with introspection at each tour stop. All of the stops were informative, especially the final stop at the African Burial Grounds. The mounds were beautiful, terrible, and required deep thought to process. I wish to encourage every person, in particular white Americans and white folks from other countries to take this tour while visiting NYC. Thank you Inside Out tours for this experience, I was left wanting much more.

We liked the ending with the visit to the cemetary. Wishing that more knowledge of the complicity of Wall Street and the North was shared rather than glanced over...
