New York Dyker Heights Christmas Lights

Overview
Nothing says Christmas like Dyker Heights, the most famous display of lights on the planet. Locals have been decorating their homes—personally and professionally—since the '80s, making it a true NYC winter wonderland.

THE TOUR WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN or SHINE!

The ride from Midtown to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn is about an hour long on board of our comfortable coach fully heated with a restroom on board.

Your guide will escort you to Lucy Spata's house, the house that started this tradition, and walk you through the most illuminated streets before taking you back to the bus. You will spend about an hour in Dyker Heights strolling around and taking pictures.

The next stop will be at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in the DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights area of Brooklyn. You will have about 25 minutes to take pictures of the breathtaking Manhattan skyline and the Bridge.

Then you will return to Manhattan via the Manhattan Bridge. The tour ends at the Bryant Park Winter Village.

Our tour guide, Frédérique, was excellent. She was on-time, told us about the city on the way to Dyker Hts and gave us over an hour to see the lights. She then took us for photo ops at Brooklyn bridge! Beautiful at night.

I've lived in the North Jersey for over twenty years and I've wanted to see the lights ever since I learned about them. My sister visited from PA specifically for this tour. I didn't want to drive or MTA to Brooklyn, this tour fit the bill perfectly. We drove to Port Authority and parked. Getting to Yotel is a short walk. We were greeted on time by our polite and professional guide and driver. The bus was modern, clean and included a toilet and a/c power plugs. The guide provided lots of interesting information about the city. The hour long self-tour began at the outrageously decorated house every local TV station reports in front of. An hour passes very quickly - I suggest not dilly-dallying at any one home. The neighborhood is scattered with ice cream trucks selling hot cocoa. The twenty minute stop in Dumbo provided an opportunity to take great photos of the bridge and skyline. Personally I would have preferred to use the Dumbo time in Dyker Heights instead. That said, the tour was fun, stress free, and worth every penny.

We went on the 1st December quite a few were already up but if you leave it a few days later I'm sure it would be amazing as the displays that were already lit looked lovely and could only improve with the overall experience. Stopping off to view Brooklyn Bridge was a nice finishing touch to the evening.
