I received this class as a present from my wife. I love photography, which I've been practicing as amateur for few years. Nonetheless, after youtube tutorials and blogs, this was my first class. I had the fortune to have Zim available for a 1:1 for 3 full hours while touring the most iconic spots of midtown Manhattan. Zim is a straight shooter: she's going to ask what you want to get from the class and, honestly, you'll get it. Touring Manhattan, you're surrounded by picturesque sceneries: whether it is a skyscraper, a subway platform or a street crossing, everything can be snapped as engaging, but also terribly flat and boring. To me, the class with Zim revealed this. She'll let you take the shot as you'd spontaneously approach it, and then she'd help you to re-compose it with the right proportions, logics and style to get something you'd be proud to share. I'm here asked whether it is a walking tour: not sure, honestly! It was not my purpose (I was looking for a class, and I got it), but it might be for tourists that would like to be guided on how to return to their home places with nice pictures of NYC. Highly recommended!

I have about 6 months of photography experience with a Canon 80D and a few pro lenses. Zim was my guide and revamped the entire way I look at the camera, as well as tuned up some settings and even fixed my "faulty" flash! I walked away from this tour with great photos, newfound knowledge, and a great friend. Definitely try this out at the beginning of your trip to New York so that you carry the wisdom throughout your time in the city.

Had a great time with Zim on a chilly Saturday morning. She really takes her time to help get the shot right and to help you understand how/why it works or doesn’t. Highly recommended regardless of skill level.
