Zuccotti Park

You’ll “occupy Wall Street” at this famous privately held public space that was home to the protest movement for several months in the fall of 2011.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Right across from “the room where it happened” (aka Thomas Jefferson’s previous address) is one of 12 Federal Reserve banks. Hear about how founding father Alexander Hamilton devised a scheme to bring banking to the newly formed United States of America and view the awe-inspiring exterior of the richest bank in the world.

Federal Hall

George Washington was inaugurated here! Learn how the founding fathers came to terms in writing the Bill of Rights and view the beautifully domed National Monument that later served as a customs house and part of the Treasury Department in the 19th Century

We enjoyed our tour with Alex. We visited the sites where many of the important events in Hamilton's life took place. Unfortunately, most of the sites are now occupied by modern buildings, mostly because a devastating fire wiped out much of the city two centuries ago. Alex had many interesting stories to tell and illustrations to show. We appreciated how he chose quieter spots to talk to the group, since the traffic noise could have been hard to hear over. We ended at the historic Fraunces Tavern, where we enjoyed a delicious meal.

As a Hamilton mega-fan, this tour was a must for me. Booked through the ‘New York Pass’, the booking process was very straightforward and I managed to get a tour for the next day, which I was pleased with (prebooking more in advance is obviously advised, but I prefer to be a bit more spontaneous on my travels). Our tour guide, Josh, was incredibly knowledgeable on all things Hamilton, and answered everyone’s questions thoroughly- as well as leading a great tour! What cemented this as a great tour for me was how friendly and inclusive he was with the group; Josh really made an effort to get everyone talking and pay special attention to things that may interest each person. He even gave me some great thrift shop and nightlife recommendations, which goes above and beyond a Hamilton tour! Overall a great experience, which I’m sure would interest even those who aren’t a fan of the musical (yet), as it really illustrated the tale of America’s birth and the introduction of their financial system, within which Hamilton was, of course, instrumental. Thank you for a great tour, Josh, it’s definitely been a highlight of my trip!

We booked the tour through NYPass, and we were not disappointed... at all! Shelly was our guide and she was amazing! Very informative, always with a smile, she guided us through NYC history with historical facts and also some gossip. Despite the tour had Hamilton as the central character, we learnt much more about the city’s beginnings on the 2h tour. Totally recommend! Keep up the good work!
