Overview

For ages 5 and up, this approx 90-min tour is an "overview" tour of scenic Newport.

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Age history and events that occurred over the centuries.

Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

The duration of this tour is 70-90 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
The trolley is not handicapped accessible. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

Our tour guide Russ was funny and knowledgeable. In addition, he gave us helpful hints on where to eat, drink and shop. I highly recommend the tour for anyone who hasn't been to Newport before.

The bus was in relatively good condition; it was air conditioned, and had well maintained seats. But the tour was just fantastic! Our tour guide, Russ, made sure to make the short tour well worth the money and the time by giving us information about the sites in Newport, as well as witty jokes and anecdotes to hold our attention. The tour is a bit short (if you choose not to do the Breakers part of the tour), but it is probably just because Newport is a small city. He also told us about the best places to go in the city to eat, as well showing us the various shopping and historic districts of the area. Other than him speaking a bit too fast at times, he was a great tour guide and helped to make the tour very enjoyable!

We had a wonderful tour of Newport, including a tour of the Breakers mansion. We were awed by Carlos’s knowledge and enjoyed learning about local history. Carlos was humorous, caring, an d easy to listen to. Highly recommend the tour. Money well spent.
