Overview

For ages 5 and up, this approx 90-min tour is an "overview" tour of scenic Newport.

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Age history and events that occurred over the centuries.

Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

The duration of this tour is 70-90 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
The trolley is not handicapped accessible. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

Speaker system not working on the trolley. Didn't pick some things up. Asking for tips bugs me to death!!

My wife and I have been to Newport a number of times and this tour gave us some new sights and a lot of information about Newport's history, buildings and people - both past and present. The guide was a veritable encyclopedia of all things Newport and presented the tour in a funny and lively manner. My tip: sit on the right side of the trolley for the best views of ocean and mansions. The tour also includes a 90 minutes stop at The Breakers - one of the biggest mansions and that was an interesting tour in and of itself.

Our driver was knowledgeable and entertaining. The trolley was clean and comfortable and the itinerary was excellent as we covered a lot of ground in the one and a half hour tour. Newport itself was fascinating and feel we received a great overall view of the area.
