Always interested in food of all kinds, I came upon an ad for the Rhode Island Red Food Tour. I purchased two tickets as a present for my husband. The tour was over the top. It was an experience we enjoyed and much more than expected. Paula was extremely informative in Newport history and the restaurants chosen for the tour were a delightful surprise! We will return to the restaurants and historic places again and again!

This was our first time visiting Newport. It was a great way to learn about the Washington Square and surrounding neighborhood. Paula did a great job telling us good historical information as well as local lore and legends. I really enjoyed all the tastings. We returned to 2 of the businesses as well for meals. I would suggest this tour if you are new to learning about Newport and would like to try a sampling of the wide variety of foods offered here. We visited 6 sites. She also gave us information and a map of several more that she suggests. Very helpful!

Paula, our guide, was great. She knows a lot about Newport history and food culture and enthusiastically shared it with us. The 6 restaurants we went to were all very different and unique and delicious in their own ways. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Newport. It's a great way to learn about the history of Newport in a non-boring, non-stuffy way as well as a great way to familiarize yourself with Newport and where things are. We already returned to one of the restaurants on the tour and plan to go back to at least one more. Interesting and very fun!
