What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

The tour itself was great and The Breakers was impressive, but Tom our guide left a little distaste in my mouth when we arrived with our two kids (whom we paid for) and said “Oh, that is going to be a problem.” I said “excuse me?” and he didn’t repeat or clarify his statement.

There was 12 in our party. It was really a lot of fun. 10 had never been to Newport and they were very impressed with the information. Joe was great. The only suggestion is that you get a new microphone. Sometimes it was hard to understand. Thanks for a great day.
