What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

The tour was great, but the guide was very difficult to understand. I could only understand him if I listened very carefully and I only caught about half of what he said. When I could understand him, it was quite interesting! But the Breakers tour was well worth it!

The tour was very informative and full of interesting details. Our guide was polite, knowledgeable, I didn't feel rushed and he took his time explaining the ins and outs of the early twentieth century. I recommend this tour if you go to Newport for a day or several days.
