What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

This was the best. Ray was so knowledegable and had so many stories to tell about everything we saw. It was the best tour we have had in a long time. And he was fabulous.

Loved the tour of town and the Gilded Age Mansions. We stopped at The Breakers to do a self run audio tour for an hour and then met the trolley at the front gate to continue the Mansion tour. Our guide, Mike, was so knowledgeable. He told us fascinating stories and answered any questions from tourists.

First time in Newport in early November. As always we stop at the visitor center for ideas what to do in the area. As we were talking with staff she mentioned that they had a trolley tour leaving shortly if we wanted to do. So it was a no brainer. Purchased our tickets with a mansion add on. Once on the Trolley, our tour guide was so pleasant and knowledgeable of the area. So much history in the area. Since it was a warm and sunny November afternoon,which was awesome. After halfway through the tour.We were able to do the Breakers mansion. Wow, what a huge house. Was built for the Vanderbilt family during the gilded age in 1800s. This part of tour took over a hour to do. Since they were setting up for upcoming Christmas season which was nice. We were given headphones for audio tour. Once we completed the Breakers tour. Our trolley was prompt in picking us up to continue the rest of the tour. A must do while in town.
