What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

This trolley tour was great based upon the amount of time we had off of the ship (it was late docking). The 90 minute overview plus 1 mansion, The Breakers. We had to keep moving during our tour of The Breakers due to time and we didn't have enough time to walk the Cliff Walk. The audio/headsets that are provided for this tour are very nice & easy to use. Just enough information. Ann was our driver & she was excellent. She spoke clearly and provided just enough information for you. I would recommend this tour.

We loved this tour. The mansions and the area are beautiful. We especially enjoyed The Breakers because we live in South Carolina and have visited one of the other Vanderbilt mansions....The Biltmore House many times. It was cool to compare the two homes.

Wonderful tour! Our guide was very informative, of history of downtown and all the homes/mansions leading up to the The Breakers! I only wish we had more time at The Breakers since one hour was not enough time to listen to the audio tour provided. Overall trolley was air conditioned and very comfortable. Highly recommend!
