What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

The man who drove the trolley was also the narrator. He was very engaging and actively helped people get on and off the trolley and took group photos. He also had a lot of first-hand knowledge about Newport and that added a personal touch to the narration. We had fun while learning a lot!

The tour guide was wonderful! He had a great sense of humor, excellent historical review of sites and place along the way to the Breakers with local information on places to shop and dine! Wish the tour at the Breakers could have been longer than the one hour allotted. Also, it was difficult to do the self tour with all the audio from many cell phones. Definitely would do the tour again!
