You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. Had a great time as a solo traveler with Linly and the group. She made sure we tracked down these Northern Lights and was very nice/accommodating of everyone’s needs. Chena Hot Springs is a MUST GO if you’re anywhere near Fairbanks.

An ok evening but room for improvement. We were promptly picked up by our guide Jake in a 12-passenger van, with only a total of 4 people this made for lots of room. Our guide was basically just a driver and provide no commentary for the ride up and little information once on site at the Spa. Once at the resort we had a tour of the ice museum, small but some great pieces. The AplleTini drink was very good. We then had an enjoyable dinner and then headed over for a dip in the hot springs. About an hour of soaking was more than enough since there were few spots for sitting and lounging. Unfortunately, the sky was clouded over which killed it for viewing the northern lights (obviously no fault of tour service) . The driver stopped at several spots along the drive back in an attempt to catch a view but mother nature did not cooperate. My disappointment was the lack of an interactive guide to help fill the time. Communication with the company prior to travel was excellent, they touch based early to notify me of a double booking and confirm pickup time. So, in the end struggle with value, as the reason why we book tours is to glean information form the host. Which was not provided.

Thanks for your commentary. Oftentimes, guests prefer to let the landscape speak for itself; sometimes not. Glad it was a positive experience for you overall. Our guides do their best to "read" their audience. Appreciate your input.

I really enjoyed the knowledge of our guide and her personality. The ice museum was great and very interesting, the food at the restaurant was very good, and the hot springs was Super relaxing. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favor so we didn’t get to see much of the northern lights, but what we did see was pretty great! Our guide didn’t give up and kept taking us to different places hoping for a break in the rain and clouds, so I’m thankful for her persistence. I will be booking with them again next time I come to Alaska!
