Chena Hot Springs Resort
After wandering through the cool museum, don your bathing suit and enjoy the resort’s legendary namesake. The revitalizing mineral water soothes muscles with its warm temperatures of 106 degrees F (41 degrees C) year-round. You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. The lights are also visible inside the cafe's Aurora Room, which serves as a comfortable and warm location for viewings. Note: We can never guarantee the Northern lights sighting.

I took this tour trying to see the Aurora, but it was snowing a lot and, unfortunately, I couldn't. Then, you must be thinking that the tour wasn't worth it, right? Wrong! It was incredible! Since our departure from Fairbanks, Dave, our guide, was telling us facts and histories about the places where we were crossing. In the Chena resort, the Ice Museum and bar are unique. One of the most amazing places I've ever been to! And the hot outdoor baths are really relaxing and fascinating. Back to the van, Dave still tried to find the Aurora at different stops in the road, but the weather was not in our favor. But, Dave, you're the guy! This tour gave me a memorable experience.

Great experience going on the Aurora Chena Hot Springs tour for my wife and I. We were picked up in a very comfortable shuttle van by the superbly experience guide Suzy, who keep the hour drive safe and unboring. The Hot Springs offers a beautiful rustic location to base numerous adventures from. After experiencing the Ice Gallery and Ice Bar, we took in the Hot Springs pools which invigorated us till our time near midnight to start hunting the Aurora Borealis. You can see it from the Chena resort, but Suzy is an amazing guide with many ideas of where to capture the best vistas and avoid the touring crowds. She tooks some amazing pictures with her SLR and digital gear, so you leave with artistic memories of the trip. Only suggestions is for the Chena Hot Springs to offer an expanded bar experience in the Ice Bar and improve the restaurant's room & seating so it can better exemplify the beautiful location and delicious menu. Felt too kitch and souvenir shoppy.
