After wandering through the cool museum, don your bathing suit and enjoy the resort’s legendary namesake. The revitalizing mineral water soothes muscles with its warm temperatures of 106 degrees F (41 degrees C) year-round. You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. The lights are also visible inside the cafe's Aurora Room, which serves as a comfortable and warm location for viewings. Note: We can never guarantee the Northern lights sighting.

We booked this trip to see the hot springs and the northern lights, however, after traveling to the Chena resort we found that we were not allowed to use the hot springs because our daughter was too young. I booked this trip for 2 adults and one CHILD. They should not allow families to book this tour if kids are not allowed. We spent $187 just for our daughter, not to mention $195 each for us, and couldn’t even enjoy the primary purpose of this trip.

We are sorry to hear that your tour with us was not worthy of a 5 star review. Unfortunately Chena Hot Springs Resort has placed the age restriction on the outdoor rock pool. Per their rules, children under 18 years of age are not allowed in the outdoor rock pool. This restriction is stated on our tour listing on TripAdvisor/Viator, Expedia, all the other platforms that we list our tours on, as well as our personal webpage. Children under 18 years of age are welcome to use the indoor pool as long as there is an adult present. There is also a difference in cost between a child and adult rate to take account for that. After speaking with my tour guide, the staff as well as your tour guide that night informed you multiple times that your child was not allowed in the outdoor rock pool. Again, this is a rule that Chena Hot Springs has put in place for the safety of all guests. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your tour even though there was an amazing northern light show that evening. If you feel that you need to speak further about this matter, please feel free to reach out to our office during normal business hours and speak to a member of our management team.

Our guide Jake was awesome. The highlight was definitely seeing the lights. He explained how to look for the lights and helped everyone set up their cameras. As the night went on we had a very spectacular show. The hot springs was also a great experience, very relaxing. The only thing I wish was explained was that dinner was at a nice restaurant and it was pricier than I was expecting. It was the only place around so other than bringing snacks, there were any other food options. I definitely recommend!

Learning how to take photos of Aurora. It was a little cloudy but Jake found them and helped us get good pictures.
