After wandering through the cool museum, don your bathing suit and enjoy the resort’s legendary namesake. The revitalizing mineral water soothes muscles with its warm temperatures of 106 degrees F (41 degrees C) year-round. You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. The lights are also visible inside the cafe's Aurora Room, which serves as a comfortable and warm location for viewings. Note: We can never guarantee the Northern lights sighting.

Our goal of visiting Fairbanks was to get a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis. And since this package had northern lights viewing and a tour of the Chena Hot Springs, it looked like a good deal. And once we went on the tour, it turned out to be really amazing and completely worth it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to do a day tour of the hot springs resort and also get a chance to see the lights. Our guide for the tour was Bob. He was really great all throughout the tour. While driving to the hot springs resort, he made sure that we got a good chance to spot a moose on the way. He even did a roundabout once after someone pointed out that they had spotted one in the woods. At the resort, he showed us around the geothermal plant that they have there and made sure all arrangements were made for the pool, restaurant, and the ice museum tour. At the pool, we were hesitant to get in but Bob insisted and it was absolutely worth it since we got to see the lights while having a dip in the pool, it was outwardly. And for viewing the northern lights, he took us out to an open area beside the resort. Fortunately, the weather and geomagnetic activity were perfect to comfortably spot the lights. It was extremely cold so he had the van parked on the side so we could get in to shed some of that harsh cold. Once all of us got in the van after a few hours, assuming that the lights were done, Bob repeatedly got out of the van to check and see if the lights were still there and let us know if there was a good show happening outside. We were really glad that we took this tour.

It was a great experience the tour guide was very friendly and stopped along the way so we could see mousses and the ice museum was beautiful the restaurant is ok not much to eat for picky eaters hot springs is sooo hot and we actually got to see the lights in the spring but at the end they take you out to see the lights with your hair all wet not the best but our tour guide basically demanded we all stay outside and look at the lights and their cool and everything but my toes and fingers are cooler I just wish we could have went home at a reasonable time got back at 4! Everyone in our bus was ready to go and our tour guide kept stopping to look at the lights and it was freezing and very upsetting but he was so nice couldn’t even be mean to him other then that great time

Sorry I can’t remember the name of our tour guide, we went on the tour on 3/18 with a full group of 14 people. Our tour guide was super attentive to everyone in the group, paid special attention to guests getting out of the van making sure they don’t slip. Appletini at the ice museum was amazing! He is super knowledgeable and helped us finding all the best spot for northern light photos after Chena hot springs. Definitely an unforgettable trip and highly recommend Alaska wildlife tour!
