Waste of time and money. You will waste many hours because of standing in lines. To many sellers and to less buses. Never again

This is really not worth the money. These guys way, way oversell their tickets, to the point that there are way more people trying to use the service than they have seats available. They call it hop-on, hop-off, but if you hop-off, good luck trying to hop-on again. The buses are completely packed and every bus stop has a lineup of 20 to 30 people trying to re-board, but the drivers can only let 2 to 4 people on each bus. At one stop today we waited well over an hour to be able to “hop back on”, finally being able to board the 5th bus that came by. Meanwhile, we watched bus after bus from their competitor, Big Bus New York, go by with plenty of seats available. Those guys seem to have 5 times the number of buses, so I’d recommend them instead. The other thing that disappointed us was that this was sold to us as a “guided tour”, but there was no “guide” on the bus. It was a recording, which was played back through these crappy little headsets. The audio quality was so poor and distorted that it really wasn’t audible, so we ended up just unplugging them, and had no idea of the things we were hoping to hear about. The boat part was good, but again, very overcrowded with over an hour of waiting in line. Can’t believe that we spent $90 each on this; what a ripoff.

we had used a hop on bus about 5 years ago and it was a great experience, this one was quite poor. They offer $60 in discounts for two 3 day passes but when you go to checkout there are $42 in additional fees at the last step so not really much of discount. in the past the live tour guides really made these bus rides great, Top View uses recordings which are not that interesting and of course no way to ask questions. they don't seem to have enough buses running as we had some long waits for a bus, we watched multiple Big Bus tours go by as we waited for Top View. Previously the service we used had a larger route that included the east side but Top View doesn't do that. Also they had a Brooklyn tour that only runs once a day and ours was completely full with some people not getting to go. The Brooklyn tour wasn't that interesting, but again with a tour guide narrating it could of been much better. these bus tours are a great way to see the sights of the city, we would definitely choose a different company next time.
