The scooters are east to work. You push a button to turn them on, put up you kickstand, give it a few pushes with your foot and then use the hand lever and press down to go. You use the break in the other hand just like you would on a bike. They go super fast! This was so fun. Use common sense and courtesy, if a pedestrian is in a walk way, stop, donāt swerve, donāt hit them. Donāt freak out if you canāt keep up at times. You will find your group. Stay in your lane. Change lanes like you would driving and look behind you first. Wear a helmet if you want. If you wouldnāt ride a bike in NYC/Central Park donāt ride an e scooter! The park is busy and if you wouldnāt ride a bike donāt take this tour. The guide was knowledgeable (Philip). We would stop at places to explore certain sites. Itās a quick and fun way to cover a ton of ground and get some background information. The shop where you meet is about a block away from the park. The shop is nothing impressive. THERE ARE NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS!!!! The vending machine had no water. So, use the bathroom before and bring your own water. You can use a restroom by Bethesda Fountain. You could buy water at one of the trucks here too. The crappy pavement on one section of the tour made me a little nervous. Hang on tight, give yourself space, donāt worry about keeping up, be safe and you will have a good time. This tour is not accessible if you cannot stand unassisted for two hours and work with two hands. I would do it again!
