We arrived at 8am as that was the time that it opened on the day that we'd booked our tickets for. Because we were early we needn't have paid for the fast track tickets but that's a learning curve. In fairness we were advised that visibility at the top wasn't good and we were given the option to come back on another day. We decided not to avail ourselves of this option because we'd got other plans for the rest of our stay. Sure enough we were in the clouds at the top ! No complaint there because it was no surprise. The complaint comes in relation to the $15 voucher that we had to spend, as part of our ticket price. Be warned you CANNOT use it to buy food !! You can only use it for drinks and anything that's in the shop, even though it doesn't specifically say you can't use it to purchase food. To add insult to injury you purchase any food or use your vouchers for drinks but there are no seats in the cafe ! You're expected to either stand and consume them or go back down a level and find a bench to sit on. If it's busy that would prove difficult. My husband returned to buy 2 cans of soft drinks and the guy who served him tried to tell him that he could only use one $15 voucher per can !!! Bearing in mind you can't get change when you use a voucher and it's $6 for one can ! Needless to say my husband didn't accept this and argued his case and managed to use just one voucher for both cans. The only friendly members of staff were the guy at the entrance who advised us regarding the views and one of the cleaning ladies. The rest of the staff were very unfriendly, which I find amazing when they are in what I would call a customer service role. It's definitely not as good an experience as the Empire State building and I certainly wouldn't rush back to One World Observatory !! In fact I couldn't wait to leave because it was so unfriendly !

Amazing views of Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, New Jersey and Hudson river. You get good views towards the north Manhattan, but still you are quite far. Skip the line was not necessary, at least when I went there were no long queues. Taking photos can be sometimes cumbersome since you are behind a glass window. Get the ipad, it was really fun cause it guides you on what you see. The short video before entering the observatory was awesome!

Wasn’t necessary. When we went to get in line, they totally disregarded the skip the line. When I made the worker aware of skip the line, she moved us to another line which made us actually wait longer. Problem: workers not paying attention to ticket status. We went at 4:00pm on a Friday and skip the line was not needed.
