Olympic National Park Tour from Seattle

Overview
Olympic National Park is well known for having several different ecosystems to explore: subalpine forest, wildflower meadows, temperate rain-forest, and the rugged Pacific Shore. This twelve hour tour allows you to sample each of these systems with the added advantage of having an experienced guide to answer any questions that may arise. Come explore tide pools along the coastal beaches, roam among old-growth forest, trek atop mountain ridges with breathtaking vistas and stand by glacier-birthed rivers and lakes. The tour begins on a leisurely ferry boat ride over the Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. The exact itinerary will be curated by the tour guide however our first stop will usually find us at Hurricane Ridge where you will hike to an incredible view of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We will move on to Crescent Lake and the seasonally Sol Duc Valley, and a sandy beach along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Please plan on approximately six miles.

The schedule was very well laid out with many pickup locations. It may be a good idea to consolidate the stops into 3-4 stops to save time, though on the driver. Joel was a great guide with information about each stop. You will stop mid morning for any food you'd like for the day. I recommend a sandwich and about 3 snacks. We packed our own 4 water bottles each, but they did have some. We highly recommend you dress in layers as some parts were quite cool in July. We wore convertible pants, a wind jacket and shirts. During the day we did see one deer. This is out of control of the trip, but we just wished we'd seen more wildlife or learned more about it. We did hear about a few trees. Overall, a trip for families with kids who can walk a few miles through the day, couples or friends.
