Naturalist Liberty was knowledgeable and personable. Trip was delayed while waiting for naturalist at least 45 min spent waiting sitting in boat. Spent 1 1/2 hours getting to spot whales had been seen to spend about 1/2 hour looking at one humpback from quite a distance dive three times. Then we were out of time and went back. If Liberty had been able to narrate during the trip, it would have been much more interesting but boat was too loud. A microphone could solve this and we could have learned about the area while driving to spot- Liberty had so much knowledge she could have shared with us along the way. As it was, it was very boring and not worth the time or money spent.

Orca island is great. The scenery is fantastic and thereā€™s a lot of outdoor activities that are possible. We had a great time sea kayaking, whale watching ( saw a bunch of Orcas) and hiking. There are many restaurant choices in Easttown so if youā€™re not planning to cook, best to stay near town.

We saw over a dozen Orcas including Captain Hook. He is 48 years old which is really old for an Orca. His dorsal fin was over 6 feet tall. Captain Nate was great at maneuvering the boat so we had awesome photo opportunities.
