My husband and I from Kirkland WA had a wonderful experience with this excursion. The team of young people that hosted us on the vessel were very informative, sharing with us the history of the J-Pod, the differences between the transient and residential killer and other marine life, etc.. I believe two of the hosts on our trip were Dave and Alex (we were there on a Saturday afternoon in late March 2019). We did see many killer whales and it was an awesome afternoon. I would recommend this to anyone who is seeking such a wonderful experience. And Dave, I remember that whales do not have tails. :O) Kat Fournier

Everythingā€™s from the impressive boat, the knowledge of the employees to the great experience of watching the whales made the price of admission seem small. Seeing these creatures in their natural environment is breathtaking. A must see on a visit to Orcas island before these creatures disappear from our planet.

This was a great experience, even in the rain. The captain and the naturalist make it easy and comfortable to ask any questions and really seem to care about giving you the best experience possible. They get as close to the whales as they legally and ethically can and we saw many that day. The boat is comfortable, with indoor, enclosed seating but you'll want to get out on the deck to really see all the action. We were really thankful we brought layers of clothing, waterproof clothes, hats. It gets cold and can get wet. Bring tip money, they deserve it! There were just the two crew on board. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely choose Outer Island again.

Thanks for the great review! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the experience and the boat itself. Even on a rainy day, there's plenty out there to see! What a wonderful way to spend the day. We hope to see you out with us again!
