We had a great time out on the water. We saw several humpback whales. We aided in the rescue of some kayaks would needed help after getting into trouble. No orcas that day.

We had fun kayaking (adult + 13 year old) and enjoyed seeing a part of Orcas Island that we hadn't seen before. We also saw a seal sunbathing and some pretty birds. We have kayaking experience so we were very comfortable in the water but there was one double kayak where the occupants were not happy that there wasn't a more in-depth tutorial on how to kayak and grumbled the whole way. They did not speak up and ask for help though. If you have not had kayaking experience before, make sure to ask the guide for some tips before getting in the water or ask if they can paddle next to you for a little while. The guide was very friendly and waters were calm.

The captain and guide were both professional and knowledgeable. They navigated and explained many details about the local ecosystem and were very nice to everyone.
