This was a wonderful way to see more of the San Juan's. Expedition started on time. We had a great pilot and guide. The historical notes on all the islands we rounded were as interesting as the wildlife. We saw several whales, one of whom came up to say hello just about fifty feet from the boat (don't be concerned about that if you've never been on a whale-watching tour, these fellows are extremely boat friendly - they know the safe distances to sound and dive). Oakley Island (yes, the sunglasses people) has become a preserve of sorts for the exotic animals the family brought in back in the 30's. There are herds of goats and antelopes that have thrived on the island since. This was part of our Honeymoon trip to Orcas, and the entire visit, including this tour, was magical.
