This tour departs from Orcas Island. The island can only be reached by the Washington State Ferry System. If your party is not already on island we recommend our Anacortes departure location.

We was on a whale watching tour with Dana and Dylan and it was the most wonderful experience of my 3 weeks holiday in the USA. We were on the 5:30 pm trip and had the luck to see a Family of 3 orcas for a really long time and on our way back to Orcas Island we saw a beautiful sunset! I really want to thank Dana for answering all our questions about the nature and wildlife in the pacifice ocean and Dylan for the safe and comfortable trip. I would really recommend Outer Island Expeditions to everyone who want to watch whales and want to learn something about the wildlife around Orcas Island!!

Great trip we got to see a humpback whale, a pod of 5 orca whales, seals and a few dolphins. All of the sea creatures were needed to be seen by binoculars for the animals safety, which is understandable. We could see them with the naked eye but from a distance of at least 100 feet. We were the last to get on the boat and so sat on the sides of the boat which was very cold and windy. We were given a very large warm jacket to wear which was a life saver. Without it I think I would have had hypothermia. The naturalist was not in a position where we could hear him but did spend some time to answer our questions individually. It was a memorable experience. Its always a mixed adventure going out on the open sea. Both the naturalist and driver were personable and helpful.

This was my second experience with Outer Island Expeditions. My first was last summer when I took friends with me on a Whale Watching trip in the San Juan Islands. This year, again with friends that I invited, we did a 3 hour kayaking trip around Orcas Island. As a native of Seattle, WA, now living near Tucson, AZ, I grew up very close to Puget Sound. However, even though I was a great swimmer and was a boater, I had never gone kayaking. At 72 yrs old, I decided it was time to get it done! Our guide, Lindsey, was a delight; knowledgeable, patient, reassuring, and had a good sense of humor. She made our kayaking experience fun and memorable. I HIGHLY recommend Outer Island Expeditions for their great guides, the knowledge and skills they bring to ensure our trips fun, and educational, reasonably priced!
