I live on beautiful Orcas Island and I took my visiting family on a whale-watching adventure with Captain Phil and amazing Liberty. Our afternoon on the water was filled with killer whale sightings, porpoises, and a humpback whale that swam close to our boat. Our little outing turned into a memorable experience filled with awe and joy.

We left 45 minutes late. If it was me who was in charge of the trip, I would start with an apology and an explanation. We just sat there and waited until two more guests showed up. All that was said was that it was not the guests fault. My guess is that it was poor logistics and a lack of capacity to drive us to another port where the boat was. The guide was good and very knowledgeable, but we had trouble hearing what she was saying. The company should provide that boat with a sound system. The guide started by saying that she couldn't shout so loud because then she wouldn't have any voice when it was the weekend. It is not a good working condition when you have to communicate with the guests. The tour can be recommended, but the company has some work to do to make it perfect.
