This tour departs from Orcas Island. The island can only be reached by the Washington State Ferry System. If your party is not already on island we recommend our Anacortes departure location.
Check in begins 30 minutes prior to departure.

3 cheers for Kat and Bo of Outer Island Expeditions! We really enjoyed the whale-watching trip. We saw quite a a large number of orcas, as well as seals, and a bald eagle. Several times, when we stopped to try to spot more of the orcas, they surfaced pretty close to our boat! Totally cool. A big part of of our enjoyment of the trip was because of Bo and Kat. They are both very knowledgable about what they are doing and, despite likely being asked the same questions again and again on these trips, you'd think they hadn't due to the way they would answer. Nothing they said sounded like they were reading from a script. There was a genuine passion for the whales and other sea creatures. Kat was even singing a little song she make up on the spot. :-) I highly recommend these folks. Thanks for a really great experience.

We just spent an awesome week on Orcas, and the two guided trips we took with Outer Island were definitely highlights! The guided kayak trip to Point Doughty was great, perfect length for a nice day outing, lots of good information from the guide about resident wildlife, the islands in general, and paddling. We saw several seals and pups, as well as osprey, herons, a juvenile bald eagle. The whale watching trip was a couple of days later. We chose the 5:00 p.m. trip; although it was fairly choppy, the new boat handled well and we felt safe and relatively dry the entire time. We saw 30 plus whales - stopped counting. Captain Beau and his assistant knew exactly where to find the Orcas, and how to move the boat a bit to ensure they would pass by us again. It was great. This was a bucket list item for me, and these guys did a great job!

This was my second time doing the whale watching trip. Each trip was wonderful and unique. This time we saw orcas galore. The boat was new and smaller than other boats in the area which we loved. The crew and naturalist were great and provided tons of info. The staff really seemed to love their jobs which added to the experience. I highly recommend this company and have taken both tours out of the Orcas Island location. It is fun riding the ferry and making a day out of exploring the island and whale watching!
