This was our first trip to the San Juans (and we all have lived in WA State our whole lives). This was worth every penny we paid. Not only were we on a great watercraft, but we had an outstanding skipper and guide (Demi and Katie rock!!) who were both so knowledgeable. I never knew so much about not only the Orcas, but the surrounding area. They were happy to answer questions from all ages and were the utmost professional. We saw other guide boats out there, but was so glad we went with Outer Island Expeditions as it was so much more roomier as well as very accommodating for children. I felt much more secure on this boat. If you get the chance, I would most definitely take the time to do the whale watching tour. It sounds as if they offer some other exciting options as well such as fishing and transportation to the smaller islands. These people know their business. The pictures I attached were just with my cell phone camera. Pretty amazing... even better if you have a better camera I am sure!

My son and I just returned from a trip to Orcas Island. We had the adventure of a lifetime on a whale watching excursion with Captain Paul. His passion to creating a lifelong memorable experience for each of his passengers onboard and his total respect for all of the wild life we saw along the way was remarkable!!! We also took a day long guided kayak tour with a gentleman named Benson. He was truly extra-ordinary! His primary concern was ensuring our safety. Given the fact that I have never kayaked before I was a bit nervous. Benson made the experience fun and exciting. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area and had a sincere passion to share everything he knew. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful and life changing experience this has been. I highly recommend Paul, Benson and Outer Island Expeditions.

This was the first time I've ever gone whale watching and Paul our captain was able to track down the J and K pods of Orcas in the Canadian waters off Orcas island in the 4 hour tour. It was absolutely amazing. We saw the K pod family play and the babies breach and skyhop for at least half an hour. Amazing. Then found the J pod going along the coast of one of the islands and one of the females come by for a close up look of the boat. Absolutely beautiful. There was a number of children aboard learning about the whales and the two tier vessel was awesome for riding and viewing. Cannot recommend this tour enough.
