Original La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour for Two

Overview
The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

I booked the Kayak tour on 7/8/18 with my wife and cousins from out of town. They were really excited about it, and I was hoping it would be worth the $200. Unfortunately, it was not. Primarily because we did not get to kayak into any of the caves, which is supposed to be the main attraction of the tour. Our guides, Enrique and Cody, said we couldn't go in because there isn't enough time, yet they spent about 25-35 minutes telling us random stories about La Jolla while we were just floating around in the water. What made it even more disappointing was seeing other kayak tours, like HBK, go in and out of the caves and really enjoying them. It truly seemed like a waste of money. We could have just rented kayaks and paddled into the caves on our own, spending a quarter of the price of the "tour." I can't in good conscience recommend this tour to anyone, or any of my friends/family who come to visit San Diego. You live, you learn.

The tour guides and team members at the shop were phenomenal. They were helpful, courteous and kind. The tour guides had neat stories to share and were super friendly. The experience of kayaking on the ocean was pretty cool. The caves were neat and I really enjoyed seeing the wildlife. There were several parts of the experience that I found disappointing. I was afraid the water was going to be too cold so I rented a wetsuit. The water wasn't very cold at all and when I took off the wetsuit I had a huge bug bite welt on my forearm. I could have definitely gone without a suit. The second part that I found disappointing was the huge number of people doing the experience at the same time from different venues. It made the sea very crowded, There was a lot of waiting around sitting on the ocean bumping into each other and it made the cave experience part be done too quickly.

This excellent tour was the highlight of our Family Reunion. The office staff and guides provided outstanding, most informative and very friendly service. Our group of ten included one elderly senior who is wheelchair bound; the guides carried the guest in the wheelchair to the water's edge and then carried the guest into the kayak! Truly service of an extraordinary level. We all had a most enjoyable time exploring the sea caves and other maritime reserve features. We certainly would recommend Everyday California for your kayak tour needs when in San Diego!
