The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We loved everything about this experience! We found our parking relatively easily (you have to park in the adjacent residential neighborhoods) and the check in process was a breeze. We arrived early and ALL the employees thanked us for being prompt. We rented wetsuits when we heard the water temp was 65, easy process and VERY much worth the $10 fee. Every employee was friendly, asking us about where we are from, joking with us, very customer care centric. It as refreshing! The walk to the beach (which we knew about because we actually read the material before arriving) was not far and easy. Our tour guides, Rob and Brunette Lauren, were terrific - fun, informative, and vey patient. We were able to get in a cave and a sea lion was inside - it was amazing! I was a little nervous at first but this was such a great experience that I cannot wait to do it again!!!!

We really enjoyed our kayak trip into the caves this morning. The entire staff was friendly and engaging. Our guide Aidan was upbeat and knowledgeable and made all of us feel comfortable. I'd highly recommend the trip, where else can you go into sea caves and see the wildlife so close? Next time I want to snorkel too! Keep in mind if the water is cold, they have wet suits for $10 to rent. Although I got wet going out, I was very comfortable.

What a great experience! We did the kayak tour with Rob and Luke as our guides. The facility where you pick up your equipment is top-notch and professional. Guides were great and told us interesting facts and stories about La Jolla. A seriously good time.
