The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We were visiting San Diego, and made a day trip to La Jolla and the beach. The highlight of our day was the kayaking. The staff was extremely helpful and in knowledgeable about the area, and they were funny.

My significant other and I wanted to do a water activity while on vacation. A friend of ours recommended this tour. We had a great time. You do not need to have experience kayaking in the ocean. It was my significant other's first time kayaking, and we were able to fully participate on the tour. The water was about 60F and the air was in the mid-70s. You get very wet on this tour launching from and returning to the beach, so pack a towel and an extra change of clothes to leave in the locker (extra fee). We were unable to go into the sea caves because it wasn't safe. Thanks to Lauren and Greg for being excellent tour guides and giving us some historical and ecological background on the area we were kayaking in. If you get motion sickness this may not be the activity for you. About 15-20% of the group got sick and looked miserable. I would like to try the snorkeling tour if I ever return to San Diego.

My wife and I lucked out and were able to take this tour with only one other couple. Our tour guide, Ed, was very knowledgeable and adapted the tour to fit very well for the size of our group. I had a fantastic time and would recommend to anyone looking for something fun to do in La Jolla.
